Hello all! I was looking around for a great website for teachers that focuses on integrating technology in the classroom, and I think I found a fantastic one!
Created by a woman named Marilyn Western, this website offers a multitude of resources in the form of various links to find information on using technology with your students. From creating fun power point presentations to interesting sites on the www for teachers and students alike, this website has more technology “places” to discover than anything I have seen in a long time!
Marilyn's website is extremely user-friendly, with links categorized by content area or technology need. She has links for handout use, tutorials, educational articles, and ways to integrate technology workshops.
There is a lot of information on the website, and unless someone knew specifically what they were looking for, they may become overwhelmed with the amount of information available. The website does not offer a search engine, so it may take time to navigate through the many links before finding what is needed.
This website is valuable to 21st century, information-age education in that it puts technology in layman's terms, making it very easy for educators (who may struggle in this area) to understand and implement in their classrooms. With explanations and well worded instructions, there is not one link or page of information on this website that I could not immediately begin using in my classroom. I feel students would benefit from this website as well, as there are many kid-friendly links for students to use on their assignments.
This website will appeal to any educator looking to better understand and implement technology in the classroom. With the amount of resources available, any educator would be hard pressed not to find something beneficial.
